UMaine knocks off Appalachian State in FCS playoffs

The University of Maine Black Bears (No. 13) traveled to Kidd Brewer Stadium in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina where the Appalachian State Mountaineers (No. 8) have averaged 28,031 at home games this season, marking the fifth straight year they have led the nation in regular-season home attendance. The Black Bears' goal- come away with a victory.
UMaine head coach Jack Cosgrove and his team were not intimidated by the hostile environment and beat the Mountaineers 34-13 and will advance to the national quarterfinals next weekend.
